Uig has some great places to eat with some fabulous seafood and local produce on offer.
But be aware that availability is often very limited in the summer season. ALWAYS book well ahead if you want to eat out - don't just rock up and hope to get a table. We recommended booking several days ahead if possible.
Many places also offer takeaway food as well as a restaurant offering. Sometimes a takeaway van will be available at the car park by the pier.
If you want to self-cater, then Rankins Supermarket is an excellent place to get your provisions. There is also a big Co-Op in Portree but this is 15 miles away.
We also have our fabulous BBQ Hut available to hire in advance - available for the sole use of Fairy Retreat residents only.

The Uig Hotel
A excellent local option for good food. Whether you are looking for local seafood, Highland red deer or simply grab a home-cooked meal like haddock and chips, the Uig Hotel restaurant will have something for you.

The Ferry Inn
Superb quality food in this wonderful local pub in Uig. The Ferry Inn has only a very small restaurant, with limited available tables and is extremely popular. You MUST BOOK weeks in advance to get a table.
It's also a lovely place to call in for a pint of local Skye ale, a local G&T or a chilled glass of wine. If the sun is shining, sit outside in the garden and watch the ferry and fishing boats come and go.

Rankins Supermarket
An independently owned supermarket located in Uig. They stock approximately 8,000 product lines at very competitive prices, including gluten free, dairy free, sugar free and vegan. They also specialise in fine cheese and eco-friendly products.
Everything you might need for a big shop, or a top up. You'll find lots of fantastic food not generally found in the nationwide supermarkets. Take away sandwiches and coffee available too.
We can't recommend Rankins enough. A brilliant local supermarket.
